Monitoring with Central Security & VoIP
Central Security are a nationwide company that monitor security alarm systems and we get regular inquiries asking if our Linksys solution works with their monitoring service. It is possible to reliably transmit alarm signals to their facility over the Internet when you have VoIP phone service with any DSL or Cable company.
Using standard Linksys VoIP equipment and our universal "IP to POTS" network, you can transmit alarm signals over your broadband Internet connection into the Central Security facility. We have partnered with a number of telecommunications network providers who are able to take a call from your alarm panel over IP and switch it onto the landline network without any of the issues associated with normal VoIP service.
1) Buy your own Linksys VoIP ATA or Router (any model) from any local or online supplier.
2) Pay the initial $29 Linksys Setup / Provisioning Fee to voip-alarm.com
3) Download custom alarm monitoring settings from the Provisioning Server into your Linksys equipment.
4) Perform a series of tests to confirm reliable operation of your alarm signaling.
5) If everything functions OK with the solution, create a non-binding $5.95 per month subscription with PayPal to start the "IP to POTS" service.
There is no requirement for programming your alarm system and you don't need to change your account at Central Security in any way.
