IP to POTS Solution - General Security

General Security monitor burglar alarm systems over landline & cellular. We often get inquiries asking if our Linksys solution works with the General Security monitoring service. It is definately possible to reliably transmit alarm signals to their facility over the Internet when you have VoIP phone service with any DSL or Cable company.

Using any "off the shelf" Linksys VoIP equipment and our universal "IP to POTS" network, you can transmit alarm signals over your Internet connection into the General Security receivers. voip-alarm.com have partnered with a number of telecoms providers who can take calls from your security or medical alarm panel over the Internet and switch them onto the landline system without any of the issues associated with regular VoIP service.

i) Source your own Linksys VoIP adapter (any model) or VoIP Router from any local or online supplier.

ii) Pay the initial $29 Linksys Setup / Provisioning Fee to voip-alarm.com

iii) Download the voip-alarm.com custom alarm monitoring settings from the Provisioning Server into your Linksys equipment.

iiii) Perform a number of tests to confirm reliable operation of your alarm service.

iv) If everything works well, you can then create a non-binding $5.95 per month subscription with PayPal to get started with our "IP to POTS" service.

There is no requirement to reprogram your alarm panel and you don't need to change your account settings at General Security. They probably won't even know you've upgraded.
